CHAPLEAU -- Two Chapleau residents are facing multiple charges following an incident earlier this month.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers were notified on June 2 around 7:45 a.m. of vandalism to the Value-Mart garden centre, located on Beech Street in Chapleau.
Police say an investigation revealed that two individuals were responsible for the vandalism.
Police, on Monday, June 6, arrested and charged a 17-year-old from Chapleau with failure to comply with release order, theft under $5,000, break, enter a place, mischief - renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective and mischief - destroys or damages property.
The youth accused was remanded into custody, pending a bail hearing.
Police. on Sunday, June 12, also arrested and charged a 22-year-old from Chapleau with failure to comply with undertaking, mischief - renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective, break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, mischief - destroys or damages property and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 12, 2022 in Chapleau.
