WAWA—The Municipality of Wawa in consultation with Algoma Public Health is pleased to inform all residents, including those of Michipicoten, that as of April 7, the chlorine concentrations have returned to normal levels at the water treatment plant.
They also indicated that the chlorine levels in the distribution system has returned to levels in which smell and taste should no longer be an issue.
The Municipality ensured residents that it was working very hard to monitor chlorine levels and flushing water from the distribution system as needed. They assured residents that chlorine levels had not reached a level that posed any health risks.
They wish to express their appreciation to all residents for their patience during this time, and their willingness to follow the guidelines issued by the Municipality with the expertise offered by Algoma Public Health.
