NAKINA — Two people from Nakina have won a life-changing lottery prize.

OLG revealed Wednesday that Danielle Ferraro and Stephanie Ricard have claimed the $2 million top prize in the Ontario 49 draw on Feb. 3.

"We were sitting at a table having a morning coffee when we checked our tickets," Ricard recalled while the couple was at the OLG prize centre in Toronto to pick up their jackpot.

"The first ticket we checked, we won $500, so I was happy. The next ticket was the big one. I was shocked. I said to Danielle 'I think we won $2,000.' I showed him the screen and that's when he said 'No, that's $2 million!"

Ferraro said he felt like he was in a dream.

"I jumped up and gave Stephanie the biggest hug, then started pacing. It's such a shock and an unbelievable experience."

The couple plans to make some investments and take time to think about what else to do with their winnings, but are already expecting to go on some "adventures."

They purchased their ticket at Pennock's Tourist Service Inc. in Nakina.

OLG issued a winner's alert shortly after the draw last month.
