New program offers marketing help to small business

Entrepreneurs across the Thunder Bay district can access the program too help brush up on their digital marketing skills.

THUNDER BAY — A new program, aimed at helping local entrepreneurs with digital marketing, launched Monday.

The Thunder Bay and District Entrepreneur Centre announced their Thrive Online initiative, a brand-new program open to small business owners from Longlac to Thunder Bay.

Thrive Online connects businesses across the district with local marketing experts, said a media release.

“Our local entrepreneurs are the heart of our economy,” said Jamie Taylor, CEO of Thunder Bay Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission, in the release. The entrepreneur centre is itself an initiative of the CEDC.

“With Thrive Online, we’re offering hands-on, tailored support to help business owners boost their online presence and reach more customers.”

One hour of free, personalized digital marketing mentorship is provided to entrepreneurs online.

The sessions can cover topics including navigating social media, setting up email marketing, launching an e-commerce platform, or optimizing a Google Business Profile.
