NIPIGON — Provincial police laid several Highway Traffic Act charges over the weekend, including 10 against a single commercial vehicle.
In a news release, police described it as a "concerning weekend on the highway."
The charges against the commercial vehicle include speeding — caught going 128 kilometres per hour in a 90 zone, along with driving a commercial vehicle without a working speed limiting system, failure to complete a daily inspection report, failure to carry an inspection schedule, failure to carry a daily log, failure to carry or surrender records of duty status, driving a commercial vehicle without an electronic logging device, failure to equip a commercial with an electronic logging device, and failure to equip a commercial vehicle with a required electronic logging device information packet.
Police also laid charges against drivers of passenger vehicles, which resulted in a stunt driving charge after one was stopped going 151 kilometres per hour, driving while suspended, and driving without a licence.
