Environment Canada issues winter weather travel advisory overnight through Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a winter travel advisory for the North Shore from Nipigon to Marathon.

The winter weather travel advisory is expected to be in effect overnight through Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada is calling for 5 to 10 centimetres for much of the area, but projecting 15 centimetres over higher terrain, resulting in reduced visibility.

The snow is expected to blow through the region from southwest to northeast overnight, but ease off late Wednesday afternoon and may become mixed with drizzle.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
