Nunchaku, ninja stars and tasers: Nipigon man arrested for illegal weapons

NIPIGON — A shipment of illegal weapons, including several prohibited knives, two tasers and ninja stars, has resulted in charges for a Nipigon man. 

in August 2022, Canada Border Services Agency agents in Vancouver intercepted a package with a Taser in it destined for a residential address in Nipigon. 

After launching an investigation, about a year later, arrests were made as the Canadian border officers worked with OPP and conducted a search warrant at a home in Nipigon. 

The man was arrested and charged with having various types of illegal weapons in his possession, importing prohibited weapons and devices and other various charges. 

Authorities collected one nunchaku, three shurikens (throwing stars/ninja stars), seven types of prohibited knives, two tasers and a related cartridge. 

The accused has a court date next week.
