One person facing drug trafficking charges in Wawa

Superior East OPP has arrested and charged one individual with drug trafficking in Wawa.

WAWA – Shortly before 6 p.m. on May 15, officers with the Superior East OPP Community Street Crime Unit issued a search warrant to a residence on Winston Road, according to OPP Northwest Region.

While searching the property, officers located over 11 grams of suspected fentanyl, over three grams of suspected cocaine, over one gram of crystal meth, and approximately 77 pills suspected to be ecstasy.

Officers also located drug paraphernalia and over $3,000 in Canadian currency. 

As a result, a 40-year-old from Wawa was arrested and charged with drug trafficking in various illicit substances and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before court in June.
