WAWA – The OPP Northeast Region is reporting that officers with the Superior East OPP detachment have arrested and charged a Wawa resident with fraud.
According to the OPP Northeast Region, on Feb. 20, the Superior East OPP detachment opened an investigation of fraud after a volunteer organization in the municipality reported fraudulent purchases were made by a board member.
On May 22, a 59-year-old from Wawa was arrested and charged with one count of fraud over $5,000.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in July.
