ARMSTRONG — Yogi doesn't need any handouts from humans.

Police are advising motorists not to feed bears, after encountering one on Friday on Highway 527.

Members of the OPP's Armstrong detachment were on routine patrol  when they came upon a bear patiently waiting at the side of the road.

The animal appeared to be hoping for a snack, as it showed no sign of being wary when the officers stopped to take a photo.

"Please do not feed the bears. This is the type of behaviour that develops. A black bear shouldn’t be sitting on the side of the road beside your vehicle waiting for a treat," OPP said in a post on social media.
