SCHREIBER — Provincial police have charged a transport truck driver after being seen throwing garbage out the windown of the vehicle.

Police said members of the Schreiber OPP were on patrol on Monday when they witnessed the incident.

The driver, a 27-year-old from Woodstock, Ont., is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Public Lands Act.

Police encouraged drivers to have loads properly tied down, bound, secured, contained or covered to not have debris or litter come loose.

"The Schreiber OPP will be keeping an eye out for insecure loads as use of the landfill increases," police said in a news release.
