WHITESAND FIRST NATION — OPP are conducting a sudden death investigation on the Whitesand First Nation.
The deceased is Stacey Shapwaykeesic, 38.
Police revealed Tuesday that the Thunder Bay and Armstrong OPP detachments as well as Superior North EMS received information Saturday evening that an individual was in medical distress at a Whitesand residence.
Shapwaykeesic was subsequently pronounced deceased.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto later this week.
OPP said they do not believe there is any threat to public safety connected to this case.
