OPP investigating death in White River

Emergency services were called about an individual in distress at a business on Feb. 28, and the person was pronounced dead in hospital a few days later.

WHITE RIVER — Provincial police, along with the Office of the Chief Coroner, are investigating the death of an individual in White River.

Police said emergency services were called about an individual in distress at a business in White River on Feb. 28.

The individual was taken to hospital, where the person was pronounced dead on March 2.

The investigation is being conducted by the Superior East and Sault Ste. Marie OPP crime units under the direction of the OPP's criminal investigations branch, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Police said there is no threat to public safety.
