TERRACE BAY – In the early morning of April 2, Schreiber OPP received a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 17 near Terrace Bay.

According to the OPP, the on-duty officers clocked the vehicle travelling at 146 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre zone.

A traffic stop was conducted. The driver failed a roadside test and was placed under arrest for impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

Officers also determined the driver was under suspension.

As a result, a 27-year-old from Elliot Lake has been charged with impaired driving, stunt driving and driving under suspension.

The driver is now facing a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released from custody and will appear before the court at a later date.
