OPP lays drug charges in Schreiber

Schreiber OPP has laid drug charges on one individual after a traffic complaint.

SCHREIBER – According to the OPP Northwest Region, on the evening of June 6 Schreiber OPP received a traffic complaint at a local gas station of a suspected impaired driver.

During the investigation, officers found substances believed to be crack cocaine.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Nipigon OPP Detachment.

As a result, a 45-year-old from South Stormont Township has been arrested and charged with possession of illicit drugs, failure to comply with demand, and failure to comply with a release order.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
