OPP stop stunt driver near Nipigon

NIPIGON — Police stopped a driver who was recorded going 70 kilometres over the posted speed limit.

Provincial police said officers were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 11/17 near Nipigon on Thursday afternoon when a vehicle was seen travelling at 160 kilometres per hour.

The vehicle was pulled over, and a 43-year-old from Quebec has been charged with stunt driving.

The driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment, along with a summons to appear in a Nipigon court at a later date.
