Perfect weather for Santa’s arrival in Manitouwadge (3 photos)

Nothing but smiles at Manitouwadge’s 2021 Christmas parade this weekend.

MANITOUWADGE -- No need to bundle up tight this year. The weather outside wasn’t frightful at all, and many pink cheeks and smiling faces could be seen all along Manitouwadge’s 2021 Christmas parade route.

Fifteen floats were entered into the parade, with Santa himself leading the way. There was lively music, bright lights, candy and good cheer all ‘round on Saturday, Dec. 11. Initially there were to be prizes for the best floats, but thanks to a generous donation from Barminco, all participating groups were awarded a cash gift of $125.

Following the parade, children of all ages feasted on cookies and hot cocoa whilst visiting with Santa (aka: Mike Hamacher) at the community centre entrance and listened to Beth, the town’s beloved librarian, read the family favourite, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’.  A fun, festive evening for everyone.
