MARATHON — Police are investigating after a person was struck by a train near Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg.
Provincial police said officers responded to the scene at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, where the person was pronounced dead upon the arrival of paramedics.
Police said the individual was a 38-yaer-old from Pic Mobert First Nation.
The incident remains under investigation, but police said foul play is not believed to be suspected.
A post-mortem is expected to take place in Sault Ste. Marie at a future date.
