Police nab driver going 150 km/h on highway near Nipigon

The 45-year-old from southern Ontario had their vehicle impounded for two weeks, and was issued a 30-day licence suspension

NIPIGON — A southern Ontario driver had their vehicle impounded and licence suspended after being charged with stunt driving.

Provincial police said officers were conducting patrol on Highway 11/17 west of Nipigon when they noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

Police said radar indicated the vehicle was going about 150 kilometres per hour, and the driver's licence was suspended under three separate orders.

The 45-year-old had their vehicle impounded for two weeks, and was issued a 30-day licence suspension.

The driver is scheduled to appear in a Nipigon court in March.
