HORNEPAYNE— The Porcupine Health Unit, which serves the communities of including Hornepayne, Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls, announced that it will be offering combined flu and COVID-19 vaccines at all flu clinics.
According to the announcement, the service will launch in November.
The health unit also added information about how best to protect against influenza A and B, especially for young children and seniors over the age of 65.
“The flu vaccine will help protect against influenza A and B infection and is especially important for younger children, people 65 years and older, and those with underlying medical conditions who are at high risk of flu-related complications,” the health unit said.
The health unit reminded residents, that it will once again be offering free flu clinics throughout the health unit region in November by booked appointments only.

Area residents can also receive their flu vaccine through their healthcare provider or their local pharmacy.
