Porcupine health unit offering COVID-19 vaccine clinic

PHU wants residents from Hornepayne and Kapuskasing can make appointments to receive their COVID-19 vaccine dose.

HORNEPAYNE—Residents of the Hornepayne and Kapuskasing region can make appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, this week.

Porcupine Health Unit (PHU), has scheduled a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Thursday, July 21, 2022 for the community of Hornepayne and Kapuskasing.

Residents from Hornepayne can go to their Porcupine health unit office from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. while residents of Kapuskasing can access the vaccine clinic by going to their PHU office between 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. as well.

Interested residents are asked to remember that according to PHU walk-ins will not be accepted, you must schedule an appointment.

In addition, they also indicate that clinic bookings are now available for first doses and second doses of the vaccine to all individuals born in 2016 or earlier and third and fourth doses are available to those who qualify.

As a final note the PHU indicated that, " As of September 29, 2021, there is a preferential recommendation of the use of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for individuals aged 18-24 years old."
