HORNEPAYNE—The Municipality of Hornepayne's Porcupine Health Unit took time to address the most commonly asked questions about COVID-19. They found that residents in the region were most unsure about how to deal with isolation.
PHU dealt with this concern and the questions very specifically, indicating that the answer to the question, "What do we do about isolating if we come into contact with COVID-19?" may vary.
The answer to that question, according to PHU, was that it will depend on different factors. Whether you have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, whether you are healthy or immune compromised and whether you live or work in high-risk settings, were key factors in determining the steps one should take regarding isolation.
The Porcupine Health Unit recommended that it is best to use the screening tools provided and follow the directions that it gives. unde These screening tools fell under several headings including:
- General Screening Tool found by following this link: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
- School and Childcare Screening Tool: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/
- Worker Screening Tool: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/worker/
PHU also shared easy to use algorithms that you can use, regarding isolation, to find the answer yourself. If residents need more information than what these algorithms provide, PHU suggests you visit phu.fyi/covid-support to learn more about your situation.
