Process securing site dedicated to local Canadian Military nearing deadline

Remembering and honoring those who served in the Canadian Military in order to serve and protect the many rights and freedoms Canada still has today, is the purpose behind Terrace Bay's project to procure a permanent site dedicated to their local Canadian Military.

TERRACE BAY — An updated list with the names of Terrace Bay residents who have served in the Canadian Military has been formulated by the municipality.

As part of the Municipality’s project to secure a permanent site dedicated to local Canadian Military personnel, they recently conducted a search of historical records and spoke with community members that let to identifying 115 individuals.

According to Terrace Bay’s website, the list provided included photos and names of those, “who served in the protection of the rights and freedoms of our country.”

Residents who know of a former or current Terrace Bay resident missing from this list are asked to email: [email protected] before Friday, May 13, which is the final cut-off date submissions. 

Submissions must include their name, rank and appropriate service time as well as when they lived in Terrace Bay.

In addition, the municipality asks that anyone willing to donate towards this project can, by visiting the Town Office or by calling (807)-825-3315 ext. 7101.
