Red Rock house fire leads to arson charge

RED ROCK — Ontario Provincial Police have laid a charge of arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a house in Red Rock earlier this year.

A 69-year-old Red Rock man is scheduled to appear in court in Nipigon on Jan. 17, 2023.

The charge relates to a fire on March 18, 2022 on Red Rock Road #4.

No one was injured in the incident.

The house had just been sold by the Township of Red Rock the previous day to recover unpaid property taxes, but according to police the paperwork to complete the transaction had not yet been completed.
