NIPIGON – There’s a growing concern over the operation of the Nipigon Community Centre canteen for the upcoming winter season.

Those interested are considered with the claims of requiring too much criteria.

According to Mayor Richard Harvey there isn’t much different from past years.

“We are looking exactly as we have in every previous year,” Harvey said in an interview with CFNO. “We are looking for people to put proposals on how they would like to run a canteen, on what services they can provide.”

Harvey adds this year the requirements have only slightly expanded.

“The same things we’ve had before, but it has been slightly expanded we’ve had requests from people who have said they wanted to have a little bit more information as they consider whether they want to put a proposal in, so we’ve done that,” he said.

“What we are looking for, as in every year, we are looking for somebody who can provide at the bare minimum provide canteen services during hockey games practices and when activities are going on at the Nipigon Community Centre.”

For more information, residents can contact the town hall.
