ROMA in person meetings set to return in the new year

After several years of being virtual due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Rural Ontario Municipal Association, (ROMA) is returning to in-person meetings.

NIPIGON—On Nov. 25, Mayor Suzanne Kukko shared that after several years of meetings being primarily virtual, the Rural Ontario Municipal Association will once again be returning to in-person meetings.

According to Kukko, as of next month communities across Ontario will be sending delegationsto theis conference, including Nipigon.

Mayor Kukko said, “Our council has decided to participate in that, Councillor John Zeckner and myself will be attending that conference. We will be putting together some requests for meetings with the Minister to discuss some items and issues we have coming out of Nipigon.”

The ROMA Conference will be held in Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023 and runs until Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Toronto.

According to ROMA’s new release the conference, “is set for Toronto with over 1,000 municipal colleagues, provincial and federal elected officials and senior staff attending this event.”
