Scattered showers forecast for first moose hunt weekend

Environment Canada is forecasting a cold, wet weekend with possible flurries in the North Shore and Greenstone regions.

Environment Canada is forecasting cold, wet conditions for the first weekend of moose hunting in the region.

Friday’s forecast has a high chance of showers throughout the day with, a high of 6 C and a low of 2 C.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson outlined a forecast for a weekend of flurries and showers.

“Along the North Shore thing will stay mild enough, it will remain a mix as we get into Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with rain showers and flurries as those temperatures hover around the freezing mark or up above it," he said.

"But further inland, where we get into parts of Greenstone, it looks like there will be more flurry activity, especially as we get into the weekend. Saturday night, Sunday into Monday, we could be looking at some flurry activity.”

For Saturday, Environment Canada is reporting a high of 6 C, with a 40 per cent chance of rain and a low of 1 C, with a 30 per cent chance of snow.

Sunday will see a high of 4 C, with a 60 per cent chance of rain or flurries, while the night is forecast to be -3 C with a 60 per cent chance of rain or snow.
