School Messenger attendance system begins at Lake Superior High School

Lake Superior High School, Terrace Bay, will be adopting School Messenger attendance system.

TERRACE BAY—Superior-Greenstone District School Board, (SGDSB) informed parents and guardians of student attending Lake Superior High School in Terrace Bay, that the school will be adopting the School Messenger automated attendance call system, as of Oct. 3, 2022.

This attendance system is viewed by the Board and school as an important component of their student’s success, because it enables families to be a part of the attendance situation.

As a result of implementing this system, effective Oct.3, 2022, if a student misses a class throughout the day, the parent or guardian will receive an automated call letting them know about any class that their child may have missed.

These calls are referred to by the school as “automated safe arrival calls” as they facilitate communication between parent or guardian and their child’s school, about attendance.

Throughout this process should there be any discrepancy or attendance concerns parents or guardians are encouraged to contact the school.
