NAKINA — The start of the 2025-26 school year at one CSDC des Aurores boréales facility was delayed by two hours on Wednesday.
Parents of Notre Dame des Écoles kids were notified at 7 a.m. that the French Catholic school would at its scheduled time due to “an electrical issue,” board spokesperson Audrey Debruyne told Newswatch. Specifically, she explained, the building has no electricity.
But the problem was fixed quickly and parents were advised the Nakina school will open at 10:30, just two hours after its originally scheduled time, she said later.
Notre Dame des Écoles, a K-8 school, had approximately 12 students in the last school year. This year it will host a student in the board’s satellite high school program.
