Schreiber mayor to raise Franco-Ontarian flag to mark special day

Sept. 25 is Franco-Ontarian Day and Township of Schreiber wished to recognize that.

SCHREIBER—The Township of Schreiber will raise the Franco-Ontarian flag on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, in order to mark Franco-Ontarian Day, which is officially on Sept. 25, 2022.

In their social media announcement, the community was informed that Mayor Mullins will be present at the Municipal Complex, at 9:00 a.m. that morning, to raise the flag.

According to the Township, the ceremony wishes to, “recognize the francophone community’s cultural, social and economic contributions.”

In addition, the community wishes to celebrate the important role, that francophones have played for centuries in shaping Ontario in what their announcement described as, “a diverse and inclusive place to live, work and raise a family.

The mayor extended an invitation to all residents to come celebrate this occasion this year and join him as he raises the Franco-Ontarian flag.
