Schreiber town council adds to holiday season festivities

Schreiber Town Council wants to add to the holiday season’s festivities by announcing their Schreiber Christmas decorating contest.

SCHREIBER--Schreiber's town council is encouraging all residents to get out and decorate their homes and yards for Christmas, this year.

Recognizing that as in all other communities in the province, the last two years has been difficult for many, Council came up with this fun Christmas decorating contest.

According to Schreiber recreational programmer, Beth-Ann McKay, this is something council wanted to offer the community as a moral booster and to bring the community of Schreiber together.

“Council wanted to boost morale and bring these festivities to Schreiber,” said McKay. “They thought this would be a great opportunity to bring the community together after a long two years,” she added.

McKay feels that this is a perfect way to encourage community engagement and bring the joy of the Christmas season to everyone. “It is meant to get everyone out and to embrace their community,” stated McKay.

With 10 prizes up for grabs, participating residents are asked to complete their house decorating projects by Dec. 9.

Town Council said they will be touring the community to decide this year’s winners, after that deadline date.
