Science North climate change show in Wawa until Aug. 5

Science North to hold their “Climate Quest" until Aug. 5, 2022.

WAWA—Science North invites everyone to come down and take part in their travelling exhibition, “Our Climate Quest” at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Center.

Their travelling exhibit will explore the science of climate change in a hands-on way and better understanding of the role we play in helping Canada reach its goal of net -zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050.

Science North plans to immerse visitors in an interactive experience where they can explore what we currently know about climate change.
Participants will also learn, build and test sustainable solutions that affect our every day lives. From learning how we shop, eat and live, to how we connect to nature and each other.

The exhibit is Free to visit and is set to run from Saturday and Sunday from 9-8 p.m., and Monday - Friday 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Visitors will be immersed in an interactive experience where they can explore what is currently know about climate change.

Science North plan is to share stories form scientists, Indigenous peoples, and change makers, stories inspired by scientist, indigenous peoples and change makers from across the country who share what Science North describes what is being done in their quest towards climate action.

Our Climate Quest! According to Science North, will facilitate learning, building and testing sustainable solutions that affect our everyday lives.

Several guest presenters will be there to tell stories brought from across Canada about taking action on climate change. Guest speakers include:

  • Dr. Manisha Kulkarni, associate professor, School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa.
  • Dr. Andrea Reid, Principal investigator, Centre for Indigenous Fisheries, British Columbia.
  • Naomi Caron, Entrepreneur, Founder and Designer, Selfish swim wear, Montreal QC.
