Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Superior North areas

The storm could bring wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour, along with hail that could range from nickel to ping pong size, Environment Canada cautions.

Thunderstorms that could bring strong winds and large hail could be in store for parts of the Superior North region.

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of the region, including Greenstone, Manitouwadge, Hornepayne, White River and Armstrong.

Conditions are favourable for the development of the thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, Environment Canada said.

The storm could bring wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour, along with hail that could range from nickel to ping pong size.
