GERALDTON – CFNO has learned of some technical issues with the sewer system at B.A Parker Public School and the adjacent Geraldton Composite High School which has caused a two-day closure of the faculties.

Superior Greenstone District School Board's director of education Nicole Morden Cormier says,” there were some issues with the sewer in the crawl space basement that we have in the school. So, right away, of course, we are sourcing out parts and individuals to come and help, and thanks to the Geraldton plumbing folks who did come and help right away.”

Students were sent home on Monday and asked to bring the equipment needed to proceed with regular classes through virtual learning.

However, Tuesday, students are still learning from home, while specific parts needed to fix the problem are being sent in with help from Thunder Bay.

Hoping that the problem will be fixed by the end of Tuesday, as the Superior Greenstone District School graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening.

Stay tuned to CFNO and the Superior Greenstone District School Boards’ social media for updates.
