Sharpen those pencils students set to go back September 6

With the region School Boards both planning their “First Ride” program Aug. 31, students will begin their first day of classes on September 6, 2022.

TERRACE BAY—Both Superior North Catholic District School Board, (SNCDSB) and Superior-Greenstone District School Board, (SGDSB) have published their school year calendar for families to see.

Typically, the first week-day after the Labour Day week-end is when students in Ontario return to Elementary and High School. For the Superior North regions, as for all of Ontario schools, their first day will be Sept. 6.

Both SNCDSB and SGDSB have published their school calendar for families to access on their Facebook page, and both have indicated that their Board office is now open.

SNCDSB shared with families that “Our school offices are now open! Contact your school Principal if you have questions about the upcoming school year, including registration.”

Should parents, guardians and care givers require any further information they can also contact information can be found at https://www.sncdsb.on.ca/schools

SGDSB recently held a professional learning day (PL day) with school principals, system leads, and superintendents all coming together to launch their school year. According to the Board, the focus of that PL day was about equity and inclusion, positive student attendance strategies and supporting deep thinking for all students.

Families requiring any further information from SGDSB can visit: https://www.sgdsb.on.ca/

All educators return on Sept. 1 and 2 for professional development days and look forward to greeting all of their students on Sept. 6, 2022.
