OPP asking for public's help in slash pile found burning

The OPP are asking for the public's help after a slash fire was discovered in Manitouwadge last week.

MANITOUWADGE — Officers with the OPP are asking for the public's help in a recent mischief incident. 

Provincial police were doing a general patrol in the area of Twist Lake Road in Manitouwadge on April 18 around 2 p.m. when they observed two large slash piles (leftover tree limbs, tops from logging activities) burning.

The OPP is requesting the assistance of the public to provide any information they may have regarding this incident by calling 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

For the safety and well-being of those in Northwestern Ontario, individuals are encouraged to respect fire and practice fire safety.
