Slippery road conditions cancel and delay some city and school bus services

MARATHON—Several city and school bus cancellations or delays are being announced by the East of Thunder Bay Transportation Consortium for today, Nov. 11, 2022.

Slick road conditions caused by freezing rain has led to the following buses being cancelled for Friday, Nov. 11.  The following buses have been cancelled:

Dorion, Nipigon, Red Rock, Lake Helen all buses cancelled.

Highway Buses in Beardmore, Geraldton, Nakina and Longlac are cancelled:

  • G2 Diamond – Beardmore to Geraldton
  • G4 Circle – Camp 25 to Geraldton
  • G6 Heart – Longlac to Geraldton
  • Moon – Geraldton to Longlac
  • Tree – Caramat to Longlac
  • Bear Bus – Nakina to Geraldton

Due to slippery road conditions all Marathon in town buses are cancelled.

The Purple bus that goes from Manitouwadge to Marathon servicing Ecole Secondaire Cite-Superieure, and Holy Savior School is cancelled Friday, Nov 11 due to freezing rain.  This bus will still pick up in town Marathon students.

The 2 buses that service Pays Plat and go to Holy Angels School, Schreiber Public school and Lake Superior High school, Tan and Bronze bus, will be combined on Friday, Nov 11.  There may be slight delays on these routes.
