Snow removal rebate available to Hornepayne seniors

This winter season has brought North Western Ontario record amounts of snowfall. Clearing it from our walkways, driveways and front steps has been a greater challenge because of this. For many, shoveling this on our own is too difficult. Often they rely on snow plowing companies to clear the snow for them.

HORNEPAYNE—In an effort to help seniors in their community with the cost of snow removal, the Municipality of Hornepayne is offering a snow removal rebate for the 2021-2022 season.

With this winter bringing the region excessive amounts of snowfall, this certainly represents good news for residents in their senior years, who physically cannot clear the snow on their own.

All seniors who are 65 years of age and over can qualify for this rebate. Seniors are reminded that if they had to pay for a contractor to plow their driveway within the Municipality, they can apply for a rebate. When assistance is needed by a snow removal individual or company the cost can vary, and the township recognizes that.

Rebates can be up to $300 and of course, are meant to help cover the cost of a senior requiring and paying for their annual snow removal.

Should seniors have any questions, or if you are unsure if you qualify for this rebate, you are asked to view full details on the Municipality website.
