DORION -- A snowfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada, with up to 25 centimetres expected.

According to the government weather service, the warning is in place from Cloud Bay to Dorion.

Snow is expected to start falling on late Saturday night and continue through the day on Sunday, when it will be the heaviest.

It should ease off by Monday morning.

According to the warning, snowfall amounts could exceed 25 centimetres east of Thunder Bay along the Highway 17 corridor and an upgrade to a winter storm warning may follow.

Visibility for motorists could be limited or severely reduce at times and highways, roadways and sidewalks could become treacherous.
