Special weather statement is in effect for parts of the region

SUPERIOR NORTH -- A special weather statement has been issued for parts of the region.

According to Environment Canada, snow and blowing snow can be expected Saturday morning through the evening.

Snow at times heavy with accumulations near 15 centimetres, which could result in reduced visibility.

Strong southerly winds gusting to 70 kilometres an hour.

Travel is expected to become hazardous due to accumulating snow and poor visibility in snow and blowing snow.

There is some uncertainty regarding snowfall amounts at this time.

Warnings or advisories may be required as the event draws near.


Special weather warning is in effect for:
 

  • Wawa - Pukaskwa Park
  • White River - Dubreuilville
  • Marathon - Schreiber
  • Nipigon - Rossport
