RED ROCK -- With Superior North Catholic District School Board’s monthly virtue of “Patience” for December, one of the highlights featured in their December #Highlights, three elementary students from St. Hillary Catholic School, exemplified this virtue.
Patience to their Board and school communities reflects the willingness to “wait, to endure a delay or troublesome situation without complaining. It means having self-control because you can’t control the way someone else is acting or when things don’t go as you would like them to. Patience is being calm and tolerant when difficult things happen.”
Keeping this in mind, their school communities always look to catch their students living the monthly virtues in their day-to-day lives and recognizing them on their “Virtue Bulletin Board” displayed in the main hall of their schools.
At the end of this month, St. Hillary Catholic school took all the names of those students who were “engaged” and “caught” living out the virtue of patience, and placed them in a draw to win one of three gift cards to Dampiers Offshore Variety.
In December, the school did just that when they “caught” three of their students demonstrating patience. Congratulations goes out to this month’s chosen students: Waverly, Mylie, and Raden for what their school community described as, “leading by example and being caught demonstrating patience during the month of December.” They were recognized during their monthly “Student of the Month celebrations.”
