GERALDTON— Returning to in-class learning from remote learning was made just a little bit easier when teacher Cora Strain, and her Grade 5 and 6 class, from St. Joseph’s Catholic School, started their own little “cooking show.”
The class developed their cooking show during the lunch hour where they took turns teaching the group how to make different lunches. It was their way of making lunchtime a time to laugh and learn from one another and build a school community.
The grilled cheese sandwich was considered a victory for her class because as Strain said, “I call it a victory because it represents a group of 10-year-old kids who are challenging this pandemic with positivity.”
The class definitely made the stresses that came with restrictions and closures caused by the pandemic and turned it around to making their school days not only fun but days that helps other students in their school community celebrate their “cooking show” with them.
