Still time to nominate an outstanding Schreiber citizen of the year

The Ontario citizen of the year award is meant to recognize an outstanding senior citizen 65 years of age or older. Schreiber residents still have time to submit nominations for this award.

SCHREIBER—The Township of Schreiber's Council agreed to extend the nomination deadline for Citizen of the Year Award. Council will be accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year Award from Schreiber residents until 4;00 p.m. Nov. 16.

Nominations should provide a brief summary outlining the reasons for the nomination and the areas of community service.

The Ontario Senior of the Year Award is given annually by Council to recognize an outstanding senior who, after age 65, enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community.

Schreiber Council explained that the individual may have contributed in many different areas, such as the arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness and humanitarian activities, making his or her community a better place to live.

Nominations can be mailed to the Township of Schreiber to the attention of Cecile Mayry, or emailed to: [email protected]
