SCHREIBER—Holy Angels Catholic School is supporting Superior North Catholic District School Board's strategic “Focus on the Future” technology-based learning projects.
Educators at the school applied for funding and lead projects to acquire new technology and support learning opportunities for students. The design of these lead projects, facilitate active engagement by students while using technology that in turn support global learning objectives including-collaboration, communication and critical thinking.
This learning objective was recently integrated into Speziale's class. According to the board, “Mrs. Speziale acquired a LEGO Coding Express to learn coding skills such as sequencing, looping, conditional coding and cause and effect using LEGO. Students worked together to solve problems and collaborate to get the LEGO train to the desired destination.”
In addition, Elsa Figliomeni has been busy developing common learning activities that facilitate learning for all students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. She has acquired Beebots, Makey Makey, LEGO Spike Prime robots and the 3D printer supplies.
As these educators wait for funding, they continue to work hard using technology tools that support and benefit students learning through hands-on learning.
