Police have laid several charges after a suspect crashed into a tree at a provincial park and threatened park wardens.
Provincial police said officers were called to White Lake Provincial Park, located east of Marathon, on Saturday night after receiving reports of a possible impaired driver.
Police said reports indicated a person was driving eratically throughout the park before colliding with a tree, and then fled on foot after the encounter with park wardens.
The suspect was located by officers with the OPP detachment in Marathon, along with assistance from the Anishinabek Police Service.
The accused, identified as Jackson Erb, is charged with two counts of impaired driving, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, resisting a peace officer, and failure to comply with a release order. A 90-day driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were also issued.
Erb was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
