Terrace Bay Rec adds family skating for first time

This has been a time of growth and change for Terrace Bay’s Recreation Department.

TERRACE BAY—The Terrace Bay Recreation Department has been demonstrating that it is a time of growth and change for it. With public skating schedule changes and now adding their new Family Skating time in their arena schedule, it is definitely an exciting time, for arena users and skaters of all ages.

Recently, it announced that for the first time it will be offering family skate to its arena users. Michelle Malashewski, community development assistant, feels this is an exciting time. Her notice to residents stated that, “It’s new--Family Skating! If we need to add more Family Skate times, or change the day feel free to contact the TB Recreation department.”

As it stands now, Family Skating will be added to their weekly arena schedule, every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. As an added bonus, it is FREE for everyone.

Parents, guardians and care-givers were informed that this activity is unsupervised ice time, so they must accompany their children on the ice.

As a result, Malashewski’s notice recommended that all skaters especially children use a CSA approved helmet when on the ice.
