Terrace Bay snow sculpting contest offering fun prizes

City officials are inviting residents to create snow scultpures.

TERRACE BAY—Terrace Bay residents are invited to create a snow sculpture on their property or public space, and enter it in their Snow Sculpture contest.

Residents can show off their creativity by using props if they wish and enter to win some fun prizes too.

Prizes include:

  • First Place: $75, Terrace Bay Hoodie and Free Family Bowling Pass
  • Second Place: $50, Terrace Bay Hoodie and Free Family Bowling Pass
  • Third Place: Terrace Bay Hoodie and Free Family Bowling Pass

To enter, submit your name, photos of your design and sculpture’s location to: [email protected]

The deadline for entries is 4 p.m. March 19.

The township also shared judging information, with the winners being selected by a panel of judges in Terrace Bay. They indicated that they reserve the right, at their discretion, to disqualify or discount any entrant, image or vote connected to votes cast by unfair means. Winners will be notified by March 25. The decision of the judges is final.

Rules for entries and identification were also described. Entrants hold the Township of Terrace Bay harmless from any breach of copyright. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, a model release is required, model releases are the responsibility of the entrant and are assumed with all entries. The Township of Terrace Bay stipulated that they hold the right to disqualify entries with inappropriate content.

As a final point of information, the Township also offered their Copyright Notice which states that:

With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright. By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants)
