TERRACE BAY—This past week-end the municipality of Terrace Bay wrapped up its Winterfest 2022 celebrations.
The event featured a variety of fun-filled out-door activities for all ages, highlighted with evening fireworks on Saturday. The township sent a huge “shout out” to their Public Works crew and township recreation staff, "for working as a team to make this event possible”. Their gratitude was also extended to the Terrace Bay Fire Department for an “awesome fireworks show to end the day."
This event could not have been as successful had it not been for the willingness of so many organizations and community businesses coming together as sponsors and event coordinators. It was a process of planning stages that took months to make this event possible.
These groups included: the Superior Seniors Club, Boreal Journeys Sled Dog Kennel, FunTastic Castles, Terrace Bay Home Hardware, le Club francophone du lac Superior, Slate Islands Brewery and WinterFest Committee members.
The tubing event and Dog sled rides were said to have been a hit as residents from all ages were treated to outdoor activities even grand-parents could sit in the sun-filled day, and enjoy watching.
