GREENSTONE — Have your children been vaccinated?

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) recently announced that they will be hosting vaccination clinics in Geraldton and Longlac to give families an opportunity to get their kids vaccinated.

The first clinics will be offered to students at École secondaire Château-Jeunesse in Longlac and Geraldton Composite High School in Geraldton on March 18 throughout the day from 9 a.m - 4 p.m.

An after-hours clinic is also scheduled from 4 - 6 p.m. at Geraldton’s TBDHU office for those who miss their chance to attend during the day.

TBDHU’s manager of district offices, Carolyn Tait, provided a statement to Dougall Media in which she stated that the after-hours clinic on March 18 is also meant to provide an opportunity for students in Grades 2 to 5 to catch up on required vaccines.

“Grades 2 to 5 students who continue to have incomplete vaccine records will be suspended from school but will have an opportunity to receive vaccinations . . . on the first day of suspension, March 19,” she wrote.

The clinics on March 19 will be held at the Geraldton TBDHU office and at the Northwest Community Health Centre in Longlac from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

There is no appointment needed to attend any of these clinics.
