THUNDER BAY — The COVID-19 virus has caused or contributed to the death of its 89th victim in the Thunder Bay district.
The district health unit made the announcement Monday.
TBDHU reports fatalities based on cases in which COVID-19 was either a contributing or underlying cause of death.
Since its last report on Friday, there have been 111 new laboratory-confirmed infections in the district.
The active case count as of Monday morning stood at 239.
Twenty-two people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including three in intensive care.
